The primary objective of establishing a National Community-based Data and Information Center and six provincial-based data and information centers is to acquire, process and archive data and information on Locally Managed Marine Areas (LMMAs), Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), Ecosystem Approach to
Fisheries Management (EAFM) and Climate Change Adaptation in a central location.
This document was presented by the Solomon Islands CTI NCC at the first CTI High Level Financial Roundtable in Manila on May 3, 2012.
